Description: |
The Region of Waterloo (Region) has identified the need to rehabilitate the historic West Montrose Covered Bridge that was built in 1881. The preferred alternative includes removing the existing steel Bailey trusses and strengthening the existing wooden trusses to achieve a 10 tonne design live load capacity. The project also includes repairs to the pier and abutments, including in-water work for the placement of scour protection.
General Contractors and Timber Subcontractors are invited to submit pre-qualification information for the rehabilitation of the West Montrose Covered Bridge. Tenders will only be accepted by pre-qualified General Contractors. Pre-qualified General Contractors must use the services of one of the pre-qualified Timber Subcontractors on this project. Alternatively, proponents may choose to pre-qualify for the role of General Contractor and Timber Subcontractor. If this is the case, this must be clearly indicated in the submission that the proponent is intending to pre-qualify for both roles. |
