This Request for Proposal (RFP) is for a Shared Online Public Engagement Tool for the municipalities within Waterloo Region. Waterloo Region is a growing community of almost 700,000 people located in Southwestern Ontario. Services are provided by eight distinct municipalities: the Regional Municipality of Waterloo, the Cities of Cambridge, Kitchener and Waterloo and the Townships of North Dumfries, Wellesley, Wilmot and Woolwich. The Region is a second-tier municipality that provides consolidated services to the entire community, while the cities and townships all provide other more tailored services to their own municipalities. These eight municipalities are committed to ongoing, open engagement with the community on issues that impact them. Our engagement plans encompass a wide range of strategies to ensure all residents can engage in a way that best meets their needs. One key tactic is our online engagement platform. Local municipalities have been collaboratively operating a joint online engagement platform since 2017. A joint RFP is being issued to continue this collaborative online engagement platform. Our collective vision is to have one platform jointly operated by the Region of Waterloo, Cities of Cambridge, Kitchener and Waterloo, Townships of North Dumfries, Wellesley, Wilmot and Woolwich.
