General Contractors are invited to submit PRE-QUALIFICATION information for the proposed Region of Waterloo Housing Bathroom Renovation project. Bathrooms located at 20 of our properties across the Region have been selected for a complete renovation. These properties include row townhouse units as well as three storey apartment style. The entire project includes more than 700 bathrooms and is anticipated to be completed over the course of 2020 and 2021. The project will be divided into multiple tenders in order to ensure timelines can be maintained and managed appropriately. The scope of the renovation is summarized below and is limited to the bathrooms only: · Demolition –Removal of existing wall tile, gypsum board, finished floor, furniture and all existing plumbing fixtures within the full piece bathroom. Remove all lighting fixtures, switches and existing receptacles. Removal of all original exhaust fans. Demolition is anticipated to require some abatement work that will be completed in accordance with provided specifications and guidance from a qualified consultant. In certain circumstances,demolition will include removal of all existing copper domestic water lines in the associated unit. · New Work – Installation of water resistant gypsum board, specified plumbing fixtures, furniture, lighting, outlets and switches and in circumstances where original copper domestic water lines were removed, installation of PEX pipe throughout unit will be incorporated. New work will also include the installation of a specified exhaust fan and in circumstances where there was no fan, one will be incorporated. |
