The scope of work under this contract and includes partial overlap / carryover work from the previous contract, and is generally summarized under the following construction activities and improvements:

• Removal of existing asphalt pavement structure, concrete curb and sidewalk, and full depth excavation of road and boulevard areas to subgrade elevations.
• Off-site disposal of excess soil materials (incl. reporting), asphalt and concrete disposal and other related construction materials.
• Excavation and removal of abandoned utilities
• Adjustments and/or protection of existing utilities to be maintained including appropriate safety measures and shoring, and coordination with local utility companies, as required for new utility infrastructure.
• Removal and replacement of existing municipal watermains.
• Removal of existing sanitary sewers and construction of new sanitary sewers along a new alignment, including maintenance of flows and re-instatement of private service connections.
• Removal of existing storm sewers and installation of new storm sewers, manholes and catch basins, along with adjustments to existing structures, as required.
• Improvements to the existing box-culvert containing the Henry Sturm Greenway watercourse, include in-water works and creek habitat restoration (per GRCA permit).
• Backfilling of trenches and excavated road base with compacted granular material.
• Construction of concrete curb and gutter and concrete median islands
• Installation of hot-mix superpave binder and surface asphalt paving.
• Construction of concrete sidewalk, raised (asphalt) cycle track, impressed coloured concrete and asphalt multi-use trail / bike lanes.
• Construction of new modular retaining walls.
• Grand River Transit (GRT) bus stops improvements.
• Topsoil and sodding of boulevards, including restoration of disturbed landscape amenities on adjacent properties.
• Installation of new Streetlight poles, luminaires and conduit.
• Application of temporary and permanent Pavement Markings;
• Installation of streetlights and traffic signal poles and controls, including conduit, hand wells and appurtenances. 
• Traffic controls for all stages of the work, including traffic control plans and the use of appropriate physical delineators to control active construction areas and direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic.
