General Contractors and Civil Sub-Contractors are invited to submit PRE-QUALIFICATION information for the proposed terminal expansion and airside pavement rehabilitation at the Region of Waterloo International Airport, located at 4881 Fountain St. N in Breslau, ON. As outlined in the 2017 Region of Waterloo International Airport (ROWIA) Master Plan, a terminal expansion at the current Air Terminal Building (ATB) is required to support increased passenger traffic once a specific trigger has been reached. The currently planned expansion is intended to accommodate up to 1,000,000 passengers per year from the current design capacity of approximately 250,000 passengers per year. Passenger traffic is anticipated to start increasing in June of 2021 with airlines beginning operations at YKF. Currently available and forecasted flight schedules illustrate the need for increased capacity by October of 2021 and into next year. To meet these expedited timelines, the terminal expansion project will be conducted in two discrete phases. The first will be the expansion of operational square footage for the facility through the procurement and installation of two Modular Relocatable Structures as well as airside pavement rehabilitation. The second phase will be the renovation of and an addition to the existing ATB. This pre-qualification is only for work related to Phase 1. |
